what is the role of an authorised supervisor?

All children's services staff, in every type of children's service, must be aware of their obligations as mandatory reporters and must have completed the required training. For detailed information on these requirements and the relevant legislation, see DoCS Mandatory reporters page.

Centre-based, family day care and mobile children’s services must have an authorised supervisor. In a home-based service the role and responsibilities automatically fall on the home-based licensee.

The authorised supervisor of a children’s service is the person authorised by DoCS to supervise the children’s service. Someone is eligible to be an authorised supervisor if they meet the requirements of the Regulation.
