Pathways of Care

Artist’s Description of the Banner

The banner shows many pathways through the care system with a carer or caseworker acting as a guide, ultimately leading to independence for every young person. “Whether we live with family or strangers, study, work, or just try our best, the paths we choose and are guided through in our youth are what we use to prepare ourselves for the happiest adulthood we can achieve”.

Billy Black, artist, a young person who grew up in care.

Pathways of Care Study

Community Services (NSW Family and Community Services) is undertaking Pathways of Care, a large-scale representative longitudinal study that will follow children and young people aged 0-17 years entering out-of-home care (OOHC) on Children’s Court orders for the first time.

The aim of the study is to provide the knowledge needed to strengthen the OOHC service system in NSW in order to improve the outcomes for children and young people in OOHC.

The webpage provides information about the study. If you have any questions you can contact us.
