Parenting is one of the most important and difficult things you can do - as well as one of the most rewarding. There is little training in how to raise a child. It is an enormous responsibility which is usually taken for granted.

Parenting styles may be different but we all share a common goal. We want our children to turn into healthy, happy, responsible adults who will be able to get along with others and able to cope with difficulties.

This website provides some tips, advice and guidelines for parents and carers.

There is information about caring for babies and toddlers, as well as general parenting tips and advice.

Also see our new information sheets for fathers, Dads make a difference.

We also have two parenting magazines specifically designed for the needs of Arabic parents, carers and families and one for Pacific Islander families.

There are also many other free support and counselling numbers available to help you.

Parent Line is a free and confidential 24 hour telephone counselling and referral service for all NSW parents. Call 1300 1300 52 if you need help or advice with parenting.
