Support for young people in care
All young people and children in care should have support from their foster care caseworker.
From the time you enter care, your Community Services caseworker will always be accessible for counselling and support — whether it be during regular reviews and case conferences, during emergencies or at special times you need advice and assistance.
Your case plan will outline all the support you might need during your care period, from psychologists and other medical or dental health services to remedial teaching or respite care.
Your caseworker should work with you and your family to develop an individual case plan to suit your needs. You will be the key player in this planning process, and your views will shape the plan for your future.
This is called "participation in planning"— see more on how you can take part in planning your life while in care.
