Expressions of Interest for Community Builders - 2010 funding

Are you a local council or an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation (or for profit organisation with a separate not-for-profit arm) with a good idea for a community capacity building project?

The Community Builders program, administered by Community Services provides funding for innovative projects and partnerships that build community capacity and improve social and community infrastructure.

Grants of between $10,000 and $100,000 each year for up to three years are available for projects which strengthen communities to deal with issues and respond to change.

Funding is available for the following regions: Hunter, Central Coast, Illawarra, Metro West, North Coast and Metro South West.

Community Builders replaces the former Area Assistance Scheme. This year, almost $4.8 million will fund opportunities for disadvantaged groups to participate in and benefit from 115 community projects across the state.

The application process has been streamlined to make it faster and easier for community groups to access funding. The 2009 funding round will open on 2 November and close on 10 December 2009.
