For many of us, the festive season means celebrating the holidays with family and friends and relaxing with people we love.
But for many children in care, this time of year can be difficult. It can be a time when the absence of family may be more strongly felt, or it can be filled with anxiety around family contact.
We all need to be mindful of the feelings of children and young people in our care at this very special time of year and do our best to fill it with happy memories.
In this edition of Fostering Our Future you’ll find ideas for the school holidays, as well as advice about saving yourself from burnout. There are some tips about travelling with children and some very important advice on water safety during the hotter months.
Enjoy the summer break. I hope it brings you and your family much joy and thank you once again for the amazing role you play in the lives of the most vulnerable children and young people in NSW.
