how to enrol in a course
For all the short courses, complete the NGO enrolment form and send to DoCS Learning & Development by email or fax on 9209 6429.
You will need to have a project codes/number as well as the course code.
not sure what your project code/number is?
This number will be on your service agreement with DoCS and can be found on the schedule A. For most of the programs this will be a 5 digit number, with programs funded through the Communities Division, such as Area Assistance Scheme projects, it will be a 7 digit number.
They are also found on your service specifications or work plans for Communities Division projects.
confirmation of enrolment
Confirmation of your enrolment will occur by email, with our aim being to confirm your enrolment within 72 hours of receipt.
Two weeks prior to the course you will receive a second confirmation that the course is going ahead, along with the details regarding the venue, start times etc.
Generally the only reason a course does not go ahead is that it has not been able to attract adequate numbers – you can help with this by promoting the training to peers that may not be aware that it is happening.
In rural areas we will run courses with smaller numbers, however most courses have a minimum number required to be an effective and viable learning experience for the course participants.
Please inform the Course contact person immediately of any changes to your enrolment by email or fax prior to the course closing date.
The closing date for courses is 14 days prior to the course starting.
why didn't I get in, and what happens now?
Generally if your enrolment has not been accepted, this is because the course is full. In those instances you will be advised that you have been placed on a wait list – this helps us to track demand and identify the need for additional courses.
If an additional course is established or a vacancy appears in the original course you will then be offered a place. You need to confirm your acceptance of the place offered as a matter of urgency.
how to enrol in courses available through the pathways option?
Pathways is an additional service provided through the SAAP Learning and Development Program – facilitating access for SAAP agencies to a range of existing training providers.
Each of the external training organisations that we have established agreements with have slightly different needs in terms of the information they gather on their enrolment forms.
Therefore we have developed a specific enrolment form for each of the individual external training organisations. These are found on each organisation’s specific pathways page.
