NSW spectacles program

The NSW Spectacles Program helps the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the community by providing glasses and other vision aids through a network of approved participating optometrists and optical dispensers.

The program allows eligible people to live fuller lives and avoid preventable deterioration in eye and general health.

To make sure those with the greatest needs have access to vision aids through the program, a number of targeted eligibility criteria are applied. The NSW Spectacles Program Guidelines outline the objectives of the program, the nature of the services and who is eligible to receive assistance by way of glasses and vision aids.

The current service provider is Vision Australia. Information for providers and applicants is available on the Vision Australia webpage or by calling Vision Australia on 1300 84 74 66. Ask for “Spectacles” at the voice prompt or email Vision Australia at info@visionaustralia.org.
