The temporary caseworker pool provides Community Services with a group of trained, experienced and skilled caseworkers who are available to work at short notice in various locations throughout the state.

If your application to join the temporary caseworker pool is successful, you will be considered for temporary employment as vacancies arise in your preferred locations

who’s eligible?

To be eligible for employment as a caseworker, you will need to have:

  • suitable qualifications OR proof of Aboriginality
  • experience in the fields of social work, child development and child protection matters within a family and community environment (including voluntary or work placement)
  • demonstrated experience working with computer databases and applications
  • a current drivers licence
  • Australian citizenship or permanent or temporary residency in Australia.

Aboriginal people are not required to have a qualification, as their work experience with Aboriginal communities is highly valued.

how long will I stay in the pool?

Your name and contact details will remain on the temporary caseworker pool for twelve months, after which you will be contacted to confirm that you wish to remain registered.
