Impact of ABC and CFK receiverships on licensing
As a consequence of the major children’s service providers, ABC and CFK, going into receivership there has been a marked increase in the licensing workload in DoCS Children’s Services Directorate.
With many services changing hands over a short period of time, DoCS is dealing with an unprecedented number of applications and inquiries. This is putting pressure on processing of other licenses and changes.
The Department is also receiving more requests from applicants to prioritise their applications so they can make their service available to children that are currently at services which are or may be closing. While we consider any request for prioritisation on its merits we are also concerned to ensure applications are dealt with equitably.
