DoCS data
DoCS publishes reports of usage trends in our child protection and out-of-home care services and the DoCS Helpline. Data is supplied quarterly.
The data supports the parts of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 proclaimed on 18 December 2000 and associated practice changes including the secondary risk of harm assessment.
Previous to July 2002, data was collected and recorded using an earlier version of DOCS' client information system (CIS).
Since December 2003, data is collected using the Key Information and Directory System (KiDS) which replaces the previous CIS.
As a result, it is impossible to provide continuous data sets on matters where the new data collection procedures differ from previous systems.
A new statistical reporting framework has been developed and details are provided for each table that reflects these changes.
