doing research with DoCS

DoCS is committed to establishing a solid evidence base to inform policy and service delivery in areas relating to the Department’s core business areas of child protection, early intervention and out-of-home care.

DoCS is building strategic collaborations with research institutions and universities in order to develop and consolidate an evidence base for policy and practice.

Collaboration with external research institutions and support for external researchers supports research of high academic quality that is relevant to DoCS’ needs.

Such collaboration also helps to build a culture of research within DoCS and the sector more widely.

Researchers seeking DoCS support for their study need to seek approval as set out in the Guidelines for external researchers.

To report suspected child abuse or neglect, call the DoCS Helpline on 132 111 (24 hours/7 days)
